Driving app improves road safety in Asia

In order to support our ZERO Accidents Culture and improve health and safety of our workforce, Carlsberg Asia has teamed up with the app, Brightmile, to create safe habits while driving.

Human error is responsible for the majority of traffic collisions. To tackle this challenge, and improve the safety of our drivers, we have partnered with Brightmile to provide regular performance reports directly to drivers’ smartphones. Rather than focusing on surveillance, Brightmile serves as a tool for drivers to recognize risky behaviors they may not be aware of.

This commitment to improving road safety is showing clear results. In 2024, more than 2,000 Carlsberg drivers logged more than 17 million km through the Brightmile system. Carlsberg Vietnam drivers reduced speeding events by 48% compared with 2023, contributing to safer driving conditions and fewer accidents. Meanwhile, drivers in Hong Kong reduced distraction-related events by 54%, while those in Malaysia saw a reduction of 48%, also compared to 2023. This is a direct result of our focus on providing real-time feedback and raising awareness of risky driving behaviors.

As we move forward, we are expanding the use of Brightmile to more regions and continuously working on new strategies to further reduce accidents and improve road safety. By empowering our drivers with the tools and knowledge they need to drive safely, we aim to make our roads safer for everyone.
