Expanding a partnership for strengthened water replenishment in India

Water is a primary ingredient in all our beverages. To help protect this vital resource, our aim is to replenish 100% of the water we consume at our breweries in high water-risk areas by 2030.

India is home to a number of water stressed regions. We began a water replenishment partnership with NGO WaterAid in 2023, covering the Mysuru region of southern India. The partnership spans several villages and covers multiple water conservation initiatives including improved stormwater collection, rainwater harvesting, pond restoration and groundwater recharge. After a successful first year, in 2024 we expanded this partnership to two additional regions, Aurangabad and Kolkata.

Ensuring local engagement for long term success, WaterAid trains community members on the operation and maintenance of the water replenishment infrastructure so that it can be locally owned and managed.

This project is expected to positively impact over 34,000 people and replenish 85,000 m3 of water annually until its completion in 2026.
