The targets in our Climate Transition Plan are validated by the Science Based Targets initiative, and were published on their website on 19 February 2026. The Carbon Trust supported us in developing the underlying value chain emission model and sizing of reduction levers in the marginal abasement cost curves.
We have worked closely with The Carbon Trust as independent external experts on climate-related methodology and measurement since 2016, including the development of our Scope 3 approach as well as earlier work on Scope 1 and 2 emissions. This collaboration has included quantifying emissions, specifying reduction levers, and assessing the cost and benefit of different technologies and actions. Having a third-party sparring partner has been an important part of our approach to ensure robust measurement, credible methodology and evidence-based planning.
Our annual performance results are subject to limited assurance by PwC and can be viewed in our Annual Report sustainability statement (link to page 46). Also included in each section of our Annual Report sustainability statement are the current and future allocated resources assigned to the main activities in our ESG programme.
